I just finished watching Star Wars Episode III : Revenge of the Sith for the first time.
What a depressing movie.
It was well done, gorgeous, and I liked it, but I've not left a movie feeling in such a funk for some time now. All of these characters I'd come to love were betrayed, seduced by power, killed, or mind-wiped. The musical score was gorgeous, and just served to underscore every hit. I cried.
As much as I've blasted Lucas for writing bad dialogue in the past, some of the things said between Obi-Wan and Anakin towards the end really hit home for me. I'm not sure that it's anything that would make sense if I were to try to put it into words, but I feel right now like I need to spend a little more time listening to the Obi-Wan on my shoulder.
Screw angels and devils, that's so passe. I've got Jedi on my shoulders, acting as my consciences. Well, one Jedi and one almost-Sith.

Different Jedi.
yeah, it's a sad movie. They kill the hot Twi'lek Jedi. I wish she were on my shoulder ;-)
Oh man, the music slays me. Morbidly, my favorite part of the movie is when the Jedi are being slaughtered. The music when Ki-Adi Mundi is being shot...just amazing.
And Battle of Heroes, of course. Le sigh. Battle of Heroes is the funnest song evar to play on the piano because it involves much banging and slamming and loudness in general. Bwah!
