Allowances

My good friend Andy left me with this interesting quotation. "One thing I found while trying to write every day is that there's always something interesting going on, you just need to allow yourself to recognize it." So, what's been interesting lately?

• The Synthesis concert was great fun.
• I enjoy writing code at work, rather than doing sysadmin work.
• Casablanca is a great film with refreshingly good dialogue.

I'm not feeling terribly witty at the moment, but I like the idea of finding at least one interesting thing in a day. Today had my mother calling me to ask a simple question. We ended up talking for about two hours. It's been too long since I called home just to say hi. I feel much more grounded somehow.
